안녕하세요 이번 포스팅에서는 [영문법률용어] 영문계약에서 자주 쓰이는 관용구(1) 를 소개드리는 데에 이어, 특별히 Legalese라고 칭해지는 용어들에 대해 알아보도록 하겠습니다.

Legalese는 일명 'Legal jargon'이라고도 하며, 영미권 국가의 법률업계 종사자들이 계약서, 판결문, 결정문 또는 계약서와 같은 법률문서 등에서 전통적으로 사용해오는 어휘나 관용구를 지칭합니다. 그러나 최근에는 일반인들이 이해하기 어려운 이러한 Legalese의 사용을 점차 지양하고 이해하고 읽기 쉬운 언어로 계약서를 구성하는 노력을 하고 있다고 하는데요, 구체적으로 어떠한 Legalese들이 있는지 살펴보고 이를 일반적인 언어로 전환한다면 어떠한 문구가 될지 소개해드리도록 하겠습니다.
